All fairs take place on mornings from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

• May 31 at St. Anne Parish, 16801 Dixie Highway, Hazel Crest, IL.
• June 21 at Immaculate Heart of Mary, 4541 South Wood Street, Chicago, IL.
• August 23 at St. Frances of Rome, 1401 S. Austin, Cicero, IL

HOW:
Volunteers are needed to do a variety of tasks at the fair, including helping to register participants and guide them from station to station.

Catholic Charities is gearing up for the 2008 series of Community Health Fairs. This will be our seventh year of providing free medical services to residents of the city of Chicago and surrounding areas. The health fairs are open to the public, and offer various medical screenings, dental exams, immunizations, and general physicals for adults and children. Many local social service providers attend as well, offering a “one stop shop” approach for families in need of assistance.

“Every day throughout Cook and Lake counties, thousands of low-income ‘working poor,’ hungry and homeless people come to us because they do not have enough food, money, work or health insurance. Almost all have unmet medical needs. They are the people who need our Health Fairs,” said Father Boland. “Catholic Charities values our close relationships with many parishes, and we are especially grateful to the pastors and parish volunteers who have so generously welcomed the Health Fairs.”
