Senior Affordable Housing
Affordable and federally assisted buildings serve people who are 62 or older, are able to live independently and fulfill the lease requirements with or without assistance and have very low income. Residents are responsible for their own cooking, housekeeping, laundry and personal care. Most of these housing units have been constructed under the Section 202 Program of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. The majority of the residents served at the facilities receive rental assistance through government programs. Studio and one-bedroom apartments have full kitchens and private baths. The locations have planned, informal, social and recreational activities. Features at most of the sites include 24-hour front desk monitoring, resident councils, activities, community room with kitchen, libraries, on-site laundry facilities and monthly newsletters. Holy Family Villa:Licensed Skill Care
Holy Family Villa
In 1947, Holy Family Villa (HFV) was founded by the Lithuanian Roman Catholic Charities to provide a home for the aging. The Sisters of St. Casimir served as administrators of the home. Today, this Catholic Charities program is expanding the facility it rebuilt ten years ago to meet the increasing demand for quality skilled nursing and rehabilitation care for seniors.
As a licensed skilled care facility in the Catholic tradition, the services provided at HFV are intended to minister to the needs of the whole person. We like to say that “Holy Family is ‘wholly’ family oriented!” Each senior, and their own family members, is welcomed into the “family” of HFV residents and staff.
HFV offers life-enhancing skilled care and services designed to promote physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual well-bring in a home-like environment. Respecting and nurturing the dignity and self-worth of each resident is the goal of every interaction and activity. Word has spread about the high quality of care provided at HFV, and at any given time the facility has a wait list of over 100 people.
