Under contract with the Illinois Department on Aging, provides in-home homemaker services to homebound, low-income elderly who live on the Southeast and Southwest sides of Chicago. Services are designed to help with activities of daily living and may include housework, meal preparation, laundry, shopping and assistance with personal care.

Holy Family Villa: Licensed Skill Care

    

 

In 1947, Holy Family Villa (HFV) was founded by the Lithuanian Roman Catholic Charities to provide a home for the aging. The Sisters of St. Casimir served as administrators of the home. Today, this Catholic Charities program is expanding the facility it rebuilt ten years ago to meet the increasing demand for quality skilled nursing and rehabilitation care for seniors.

As a licensed skilled care facility in the Catholic tradition, the services provided at HFV are intended to minister to the needs of the whole person. We like to say that “Holy Family is ‘wholly’ family oriented!” Each senior, and their own family members, is welcomed into the “family” of HFV residents and staff.

HFV offers life-enhancing skilled care and services designed to promote physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual well-bring in a home-like environment. Respecting and nurturing the dignity and self-worth of each resident is the goal of every interaction and activity. Word has spread about the high quality of care provided at HFV, and at any given time the facility has a wait list of over 100 people.

Home Delivered Meals and Meals on Wheels

Noon-time meals usually delivered by volunteers for those who are homebound and unable to prepare their own food due to physical or mental difficulties. In some programs, this may also include an evening sack meal.
