Free Tax Preparation Offered For Qualifying Participants
Friday, March 16, 2018 by Communications
Do you need help with your tax preparation this year? Catholic Charities is partnering with Tax Assistance Program (TAP) to offer free tax preparation for qualifying individuals at our Women, Infant, and Children (WIC) Food Center sites. More sites are available through TAP throughout Chicago and its suburbs. A full list of locations is below.

Tax preparation is offered on a first-come, first-served basis for households earning up to $55,000 and individuals earning up to $30,000 annually. Sites will stop taking new clients at least one hour before closing or possibly earlier during busier sessions. We recommend that you arrive early.

Sites will be open through April 17 (the tax filing deadline) unless otherwise noted.

If you are filing a joint return with your spouse, both spouses must be present to finalize the return. This service is for full-year Illinois residents. We cannot prepare non-Illinois returns.

What You Need To Bring
Original Social Security card / ITIN letter for everyone on your return.
- A valid form of photo identification.
- All 2017 tax documents (W-2s, 1099s, etc.)
- Bank account and routing numbers for direct deposit.
- Proof of health insurance coverage (Form 1095-A, 1095-B, 1095-C, Medicare card) or Certification of Exemption.
