Catholic Charities To Host ‘Hearts for Hope’ Dinner & Auction
Wednesday, March 28, 2018 by Communications

For 29 years, Catholic Charities Northwest Region has hosted the Hearts for Hope Dinner and Auction, benefiting the nearly 60,000 people in the region who are in need and depend on Catholic Charities for help. On Saturday, April 21, the event will return and be held at The Cotillion, 360 S. Creekside Drive, in Palatine, starting at 6 p.m.

Attendees will dance the night away with one of Chicago’s most popular bands, 7th Heaven, enjoy a delicious dinner and open bar, have the opportunity to participate in silent and live auctions, and celebrate three local honorees who have supported Catholic Charities mission and made an impact in our communities. The evening is cocktail attire.

The Northwest Region provides suppers to those in need twice a week; housing and counseling for veteran families; shelter and housing for those facing homelessness; seniors services included home-delivered meals; counseling; legal immigration and assistance; and clothing.

“The critical services we provide to those in need wouldn’t be possible without the support of our advisory board and local residents who step up and give of their time and resources,” said Mike Waters, Catholic Charities Northwest Region Director. “This event is a great way for those who are looking to get involved for the first time, or for our longtime supporters to come together and celebrate and continue their support.”

Last year’s event was attended by approximately 300 people and raised $75,000. Tickets are $95 each or $900 for tables of 10. Tickets can be purchased online at

Honorees include:
Fr. Corey Brost, former president of St. Viator High School, is receiving the Heart of Charity Award for his support of Catholic Charities and his commitment to social justice and serving those in need. He is currently heading a Viatorian mission that serves young refugees seeking asylum in the U.S.

St. Alphonsus Liguori parish in Prospect Heights is receiving the Parish Partner Award for its support of Catholic Charities and its commitment to serving those in need. Also being honored is Andrea Ricard, a longtime Catholic Charities volunteer who has headed the parish’s Ministry of Care.

Sysco Chicago, a food products supplier from Des Plaines, is receiving the Community Spirit Award for its support of Catholic Charities and other charitable ventures in the community. Sysco is a frequent sponsor of the Tuesday and Thursday suppers at our Des Plaines office and contributes other supplies for our supper program as well as food for our food pantry.

This milestone year marks the 100th Anniversary of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago, which serves nearly 1 million people throughout Cook and Lake counties each year. The Hearts for Hope fundraiser is our largest fundraiser for our neighbors in need in the Northwest Region.
