Legacy of Hope Society
The Legacy of Hope Society honors individuals who plan to support us in the future through wills, trusts, gift annuities, life insurance, retirement plans, or other ways. You will receive an invitation to the Legacy of Hope luncheon with Monsignor Michael Boland, President of Catholic Charities, as well as a subscription to Spirit magazine and invitations to other events. To join, simply let us know that you have included us in your estate plan. You may share as many or as few details as you wish. Information you choose to disclose is held in strictest confidence.

Save the Date: September 30 - Legacy of Hope Luncheon
The Legacy of Hope Society luncheon is at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, September 30, 2019 at our headquarters, 721 N. LaSalle St, Chicago. Come and meet other wonderful supporters, and enjoy a behind the scenes look at how your gifts help others.

Shape the Future with a Bequest Gift
A few sentences in your will or trust can be the basis of a meaningful, life-affirming gift that will bring care and comfort to people who turn to us for help. Your bequest can be in honor of in memory of someone special. You can support a favorite program, or allow us to use your gift for the needs and opportunities that are most relevant when it is received.

Beneficiary Designations
To make us a full or partial beneficiary of your IRA, 401(k), annuity, or life insurance policy, simply request a beneficiary designation form from your plan administsrator.

IRA Qualified Charitable Distributions
If you are 70-1/2 or older, you may give up to $100,000 per year directly from your IRA to one or more charities. The transfer has two advantages: it counts toward your required minimum distribution, and it is excluded from your income. Because you are not receiving the money, you will not pay taxes on it.

We have a sample letter you may send to your plan provider to make a qualified charitable distribution from your IRA. Your IRA administrator may require other forms besides our sample letter, so please contact your provider to be sure all steps are completed for your distribution. The check should be payable to "Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago." We will send you a written acknowledgement.

Charitable Gift Annuities
Are you looking for ways to use your current financial assets to plan for a secure and comfortable retirement? Would you or a loved one benefit from receiving annual payments that are guaranteed to never change? Making a donation through a charitable gift annuity can be a good way to meet both financial and charitable goals.

With our high payout rates, you may receive more secure, stable income than you are currently earning from your investments. You will receive an immediate tax deduction for part of your gift. A portion of the annuity payments are tax-free. A gift annuity is easy to set up. The minimum age is 55, and the minimum donation is $10,000 in cash or securities. We are happy to discuss options and prepare a no-obligation proposal based on your situation.
